Mieterstrom in Berlin: Stand, Perspektiven und zukünftiges Potenzial (DE)

Wir diskutieren den aktuellen Stand und das zukünftige Potenzial von Berliner Mieterstromprojekten, die es Mieter*innen erlauben, an der Energiewende teilzuhaben.

Solarenergie und Mieterstrom sind Schwerpunkte des Berliner Energie- und Klimaschutzprogramms (BEK), denn die Photovoltaik-Technologie ist zentral für Klimaschutz und für die soziale Teilhabe am Transformationsprozess Energiewende, insbesondere für Mieterinnen und Mieter. Durch die Weiter-entwicklung der Technologie und neue Konzepte im Bereich Sektorkopplung und Quartierslösungen ergeben sich zukünftig weitere Potenziale für die nahräumliche Stromversorgung. Gleichzeitig gibt es nach wie vor viele administrative und wirtschaftliche Hürden für die Verwirklichung von Mieterstrom-projekten. In der Veranstaltung werden der aktuelle Stand und Zukunftsperspektiven diskutiert. Es werden erste Ergebnisse eines Forschungsvorhabens vorgestellt, das Mieterstromprojekte in Berlin untersucht und zukünftige Technologieoptionen mit einem Energiemodell simuliert. Die Veranstaltung ist Teil der Reihe „Forschen für den Wandel: sozial-ökologische Perspektiven für Berlin“ des transdisziplinären Forschungsverbunds Ecornet Berlin (www.ecornet.berlin).

Senior Fellow in the field of Energy Policy

Katharina Umpfenbach is a Senior Fellow and coordinates Ecologic Institute’s work on energy policy. Her research focuses on developing a new regulatory framework that can enable energy sector decarbonisation and sector coupling. She is particularly interested in the interplay of energy market integration in Europe and the German Energiewende and in the integration of the power and transport sectors through electric mobility.

Swantje Gährs

Institut für ökologische Wirtschaftsforschung

Senior Researcher

Dr. Swantje Gährs studied mathematics at the Free University of Berlin and then did her doctorate at the Leibniz University in Hanover and at the Fields Institute in Toronto. She has been a researcher at the IÖW since 2013. Her main focus is on the energy system modeling of decentralized solutions and the role of prosumers in the digital energy system as well as the evaluation of economy, business models and services from the point of view of various stakeholders.

Astrid Aretz

Institut für ökologische Wirtschaftsforschung

Senior Researcher

Dr. Astrid Aretz studied electrical engineering and mathematics at RWTH Aachen University and then did her thesis at the University of Oldenburg. She has been a researcher at the IÖW since 2005 and has been working for many years on issues in the fields of renewable energies and the evaluation of energy systems. In various projects she has dealt with the self-consumption of renewable electricity in households and the potential of tenant electricity.

Norbert Juchem

Berliner Stadtwerke

Sales Manager in housing industry and decentralized energy systems

Mr. Norbert Juchem is sales manager in the area of housing and decentralized energy systems at Berliner Stadtwerke. His responsibilities include the implementation of tenant electricity projects in the Berlin housing industry and the development of the business model: charging infrastructure for e-vehicles. Since 1999 he has been working in the energy industry, especially in the sales of electricity, gas, decentralized energy systems and electromobility.
