ROOM 1: INSPIRING PEOPLE FOR SCIENCE THROUGH ASTRONOMY

How can simple tools like a tactile image or a telescope inspire wonder and curiosity? Susan Murabana Owen takes a 12 inch computerised telescope and 8 meter portable planetarium to schools and public places in an effort to inspire, engage and empower the next generation of African scientists. Nicolas Bonne develops accessible teaching resources and workshops to make current topics in astrophysics, traditionally a visual science, accessible to young people with vision impairments.

ROOM 2: REACHING THE UNREACHABLE

How can we reach those who are hard to reach? Sandra Benitez Herrera aims to empower and inspire the Sahrawi refugee community through the wonders of the Universe. Mohamed Daoud uses a science bus to reach out to the underprivileged communities all over Egypt through edutainment hands-on activities.

ROOM 3: USING INNOVATIVE WAYS TO ENGAGE THE PUBLIC WITH SCIENCE

How can innovative methods help engage the public with Science? Ken Dutton-Regester created the world-first, portable, cancer biology-themed puzzle room. Using an escape room as a unique and innovative platform, the complexities of cancer are explained through an immersive experience. Sofía Otero addresses the issues of volcanoes using augmented reality, virtual reality, scenography, models - take a VR trip inside a volcano from the crater to the magma chamber!

ROOM 4: TAKING SCIENCE ENGAGEMENT TO 'UNUSUAL' PLACES

Science Engagement is everywhere! Mhairi Stewart brings informal science learning to the learning centres of 6 Scottish prisons, and provides a platform for researchers to develop confidence and skills in engagement. Robert Arlinghaus fosters cooperation among scientists and angler communities to generate high quality ecological knowledge co-produced by scientists and stakeholders.

ROOM 5: INVESTING IN THE FUTURE OF SCIENCE AND SCIENCE ENGAGEMENT

How can we invest in our future Scientists and Science Engagers? Oscar Contreras-Villarroel aims to shape the next generation of STEM leaders in Latin America through a science camp in which they develop their science competences and leadership skills. Anil Pradhan maintains the objective of improving the quality of education in rural and semi-rural areas through programs on innovation, science, and technology.
