Online course for teachers - using drones as teaching and learning tools for (STEM) education. Flying - Coding - Understanding.

The focus of this course is on the use of small drones as teaching and learning tools. Drones are flying robots that provide creative access to numerous topics of STEM subjects, such as maths, physics, and computer science. Drones are ideal for teaching in a motivating and project-oriented manner.
Educators will get an overview of the construction and potential use of small drones (under 200 g). Topics of the course also include regulatory and technical questions, safety aspects as well as various demonstrations.

Christian Janke is an Assistant Professor and Program Chair for the Bachelor of Science in Unmanned Systems Applications at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University – Worldwide Campus. He is a trainer for Human Factors & Crew Resource Management and Safety Management in Aviation and has been in military service as a helicopter pilot. As faculty with Embry Riddle Worldwide, he is responsible for the degree program, tailored for a worldwide student populating in distance learning mode with a dedicate learning management system. He also supports STE(A)M projects as coach and trainer to teach drones and robotics and prepare the next generation for the future.

Executive Hardware Engineer

As Executive Hardware Engineer and team member of DroneMasters Academy, Philipp is characterized by his passion for the development of “all-things-multicopters”. As a pilot and operator, Philipp has extensive knowledge in the operation and control of various drone systems. As a pilot he flies in drone races, has trained together with the fire department in the use of drones at mission sites and has conducted numerous tests with different prototypes.

Chief Operator

Branko May Trinkwald worked as an IT developer in Berlin for over 20 years before he discovered the subject of drones in 2015. Within the DroneMasters Boost GmbH, Branko is Chief Operator and responsible for the management of the DroneMasters Academy as well as for the development of flying prototypes and platforms to accelerate vertical mobility. At the DroneMasters Academy he uses drones to introduce children and young people to technical professions and trains adults in the responsible use of drone technology. Branko also works voluntarily for Sage Hospital, a non-profit aid organization that operates a hospital in Senegal.
