Wie lassen sich Mode und Textilien trotz globaler Fertigung fair und nachhaltig produzieren? Kommen Sie mit Insider_innen der Branche ins Gespräch.

Ob Jeans oder Jogginganzug, Funktionsshirt oder Fleecejacke: Immer mehr Menschen wünschen sich, dass Mode und Textilien nachhaltig und unter menschenwürdigen Bedingungen produziert werden.

Die HTW Berlin hat deshalb vier Insider_innen der Textil- und Bekleidungsbranche zur Debatte geladen. Sie diskutieren darüber, wie weit der Prozess des Umdenkens schon gediehen ist und welche Veränderungen noch nötig sind. Es geht um Lieferketten und Löhne, Zerti4kate und Siegel, um Initiativen und natürlich Innovationen, die einen Fortschritt bringen könnten, wie beispielsweise die Bioökonomie. Welche Chancen hat diese auf dem globalen Bekleidungsmarkt? Wird die Nachhaltigkeit den Schritt aus der Nische zur Massenproduktion schaffen? Es erwartet Sie eine kontroverse Debatte. Diskutieren Sie im Anschluss daran mit den Insider_innen persönlich in Breakout Sessions. Wir freuen uns auf Sie!

Dr. Gisela Burckhardt is a development policy expert and campaigner specialising in social human rights. She is a member of the Textiles Partnership of the Federal Government as well as the founder and CEO of FEMNET, a non-profit organisation for women’s rights whose members dedicate themselves on a voluntary basis to the economic, social and cultural rights of women worldwide.

Monika Fuchs

Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin

Professor of Clothing Technology

Prof. Monika Fuchs is Professor of Clothing Technology at HTW Berlin. In her teaching and research work she focuses on technical-administrative product development, global procurement and sustainability, and household laundry care. Her research interests include open innovation, the potential for digitalisation in laundry care and bicycle clothing as an enabler for changing attitudes towards mobility.

René Bethmann

Innovation Manager Materials and Manufacturing

René Bethmann has worked in product development and materials management for a number of leading sports companies in Europe. Since 2013 he has been working for the Upper Swabian outdoor outfitter VAUDE, first as Head of Materials, and for the last 4 years as Innovation Manager of the company’s innovation team with a strong focus on biopolymers, recycling strategies and technology evaluation. He is also a lecturer at the VAUDE Academy for Sustainable Management and is active in numerous networks.

Stefanie Molthagen-Schnöring

Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin

Vice President for Research and Transfer

Prof. Dr. Stefanie Molthagen-Schnöring is an expert in communication science and has been a professor at HTW Berlin since 2011. After several years of teaching and research for the Business Communication degree programme, she was appointed Vice-Dean of the School of Computing, Communication and Business in 2014. Since April 2019 she has held the position of Vice-President for Research and Transfer.
