Falling Walls Engage Pitches – Session 2: Future Engagement in Education

For the 4th time, Falling Walls Engage and the Robert Bosch Stiftung put a spotlight on the most inspiring Science Engagement projects worldwide. The 20 Winners in the Science Engagement category are invited to present their 5-minute project pitch on stage, in front of an international audience and a distinguished jury. Join us to discover the most inspiring initiatives breaking the walls between science and society – from STEM education and community engagement to documentary filmmaking, immersive exhibitions, video games, docu-dramas, whale songs and rock music videos.

On 7 November in a joint Award Ceremony with Falling Walls Lab (Emerging Talents) and Falling Walls Venture (Science Start-Ups), the best initiative will receive the title of Falling Walls 2021 Breakthrough of the Year in the Science Engagement category. On 9 November, the recipient of this award will be invited to present again on the grand stage of the Falling Walls Conference together with the other Awardees of Science Breakthroughs of the Year in the first 9 categories.

As the global platform for Science Engagement, Falling Walls Engage is hosted by the Falling Walls Foundation in cooperation with the Robert Bosch Stiftung.

Stanley Anigbogu


Stanley Anigbogu is an innovator, inventor, storyteller, and social entrepreneur. He is the founder of ArtecHubs Nigeria, a leading STEAM tech skill acquisition company for young minds in the southeastern region of Nigeria. Stanley Anigbogu is an internationally recognized award-winning Innovator and filmmaker, Winner of the J&J Champions of science 2020, Daina Award Recipient 2021, Falling walls Finalist 2020, and JCI Top ten creative young entrepreneurs in Nigeria, Stanley is a current Google creative campus fellow by Google 2020/2021, and Roger Hatchulet Student Academy 2021 Class by Canne Lions.

Fatemeh Bonyadi


Fatemeh Bonyadi is a PhD candidate in Communication Sciences at Allameh Tabatabai University in Tehran, Iran. She is currently the Secretary of the Education Committee of the UNESCO Chair on Science and Technology Communications in Iran. She is an amateur astronomer as well, and in the last ten years she has had various experiences in science communication, including an astronomy educator in science centers, a science journalist, a science PR and a science communication researcher.

Lalah Rukh Fazal-Ur-Rahman

Science Fuse

Lala Rukh Fazal-Ur-Rahman is a science communicator and founder of Science Fuse, a social enterprise offering informal science education to children from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds in Pakistan. She studied biotechnology at university & has been working as a science communicator for the last 8 years, earlier at a Norwegian social enterprise, Forskerfabrikken and later at the Science Museum London before moving to Pakistan in 2016. She is an Acumen Fellow 2018 and a Malala Fund Education Champion 2020 from Pakistan.

Michael Kasumovic


His research explores how the social environment shapes the evolution of individual traits and behaviours. Michael Kasumovic has used his understanding and theories from research on non-human animals to better understand human behaviour. He has even applied these theories to education, creating a company that improves social interactions and communication between students to improve educational outcomes.

Joana Moscoso

Native Scientist

Joana believes in science and innovation for the benefit of humankind. This made her a passionate scientist, science communicator and social entrepreneur. While doing her PhD in Microbiology, she co-founded Native Scientist, a social enterprise that connects children with scientists across Europe to promote scientific literacy. Joana loves spending time with her family and friends, especially around a dinner table.

Gabriela de la Torre

Programa Adopte un Talento (PAUTA)

PhD in Scholar Psychology and Child Development by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She has dedicated her professional life to gifted and talented education.

Currently, she is the general director of the Adopt a Talent Program, a nonprofit organization at the Nuclear Sciences Institute of the National University of Mexico (UNAM). The program seeks to develop the scientific vocation in children and youngsters by working with extracurricular activities that aim at scientific abilities.

Mohammed Zaid


A curious social entrepreneur. EU Goodwill ambassador in Libya. The Lead and Founder of LYBOTICS and serves on its board of directors. I’m passionate about building and shaping communities through Innovation and Technology. started working at a young age in a tech company which inspired me to pursue a degree in Information Technology. I’m managing local and international initiatives in technology and innovation, education, employment, and peacebuilding reforms. www.mrzaid.com
