Circular Economy –Kreislaufwirtschaft der nächsten Generation: Perspektiven sozial-ökologischer Forschung und Initiativen in Berlin (DE)

Mit Innovation die Kreislaufwirtschaft der nächsten Generation in Berlin gestalten.

Berlin entwickelt sich zunehmend als ein dynamisches Innovationsfeld der Circular Economy – einem zirkulären, ressourcenschonenden Wirtschaften. (Soziale) Innovationen entstehen nicht mehr nur im Bereich des Recyclings von Abfällen, sondern verstärkt beim Design und der Herstellung von nach-haltigen Produkten oder mit neuen Geschäftsmodellen. Die Veranstaltung gibt Einblicke in die aktuelle Forschung zur Entwicklung der Kreislaufwirtschaft und das Engagement der Berliner Innovateure.

Die Vortragenden zeigen die vielfältigen Aspekte der Entwicklung einer Kreislaufwirtschaft in Berlin auf – seien es die zahlreichen Initiativen zur Wiederverwendung von Produkten (wie etwa Textilien), eigene „zirkuläre“ Bauvorhaben, bei denen lokale Baumaterialien aus alten für neue Gebäude weiter genutzt werden oder die Rolle der öffentlichen Beschaffung für die Förderung der Kreislaufwirtschaft. Die Veranstaltung ist Teil der Reihe „Forschen für den Wandel: Sozial-ökologische Perspektiven für Berlin“ des transdisziplinären Forschungsverbunds Ecornet Berlin.

Siegfried Behrendt

Head of Research for the area of “Technology and Innovation”

Dr. Siegfried Behrendt holds a degree in political science and biology and completed his doctorate at Carl von Ossietzky University on the subject of “Pervasive Computing”. He has been Head of Research for the area of “Technology and Innovation” since 2014 at the IZT. The focus of his research is on sustainability innovations. He focuses on the early detection, analysis and integration of risks and side effects in innovation processes as well as on the design of transformation processes.

Jakob Zwiers

Jakob Zwiers

Researcher in the field of circular economy, bioeconomy, data economy, foresight, innovation and transformation management

Jakob Zwiers is a researcher at the IZT. There he deals with economic, ecological and social issues of resource use at the interface of sustainable development and digitisation. He focuses on topics such as circular economy, bioeconomy, data economy, foresight, innovation and transformation management. In addition to his work at the IZT, he publishes and advises, gives lectures.

Jens Gröger

Öko-Institut e.V.

Senior Researcher in the field of products and material flows

Jens Gröger (Dipl.-Ing.) is a senior researcher and has been working in the field of products and material flows since 2009. His research focus is on information and communication technology and digitisation. His spectrum of topics ranges from the ecological assessment of ICT products, the development of award criteria for the Blue Angel for ICT products, computer centres, software, to research questions on resource-light infrastructure in telecommunication networks.

Siddarth Prakash

Öko-Institut e.V.

Senior Researcher in the field of products and material flows

Siddharth Prakash is a senior researcher in the “Products and Material Flows” division of Öko-Institut. His focus is on the analysis of policies and instruments for sustainable consumption and production and circular economy. In this context, he heads various projects of the in the thematic area “Strategies against obsolescence and for extending the life and service life of products”.

Martin Hirschnitz-Garbers

Ecologic Institut

Senior Fellow in analysis and evaluation of policies and policy instruments aimed at fostering resource conservation and a Circular Economy

Dr. Martin Hirschnitz-Garbers studied environmental sciences at Leuphana University of Lüneburg and at the University of Queensland (Australia). He completed a PhD at Ernst Moritz Arndt University, Greifswald on sustainable resource management and climate change adaptation. Since 2011, he works at the Ecologic Institute. His work involves analysing and evaluating policies and policy instruments aimed at fostering resource conservation and a Circular Economy.
