COSTS

Open source exhibitions

  • 50,000€ per year personnel costs (+ small overhead for office costs)

  • about 5,000€ for travel costs (projects in Rwanda, Brazil, etc.)

IMPACT

The main impact is that hierarchies are broken: all can enjoy and also be part of science communication.

  • Amount of real human visitors at real events engaging with science (more than 3 million)
  • Amount of countries (60), cultures, languages (30) we deal with
  • Amount of active contributors to the project (participation) (900)
  • Amount of new creative ideas (never imagined)
  • Amount of people actively doing maths communication
  • Amounf of independent active country chapters (10)

TARGET GROUP

“Everybody”, including researchers and scientists. Our exhibitions are enjoyed by people starting at age 5. Unique is that the target group is also creator (consumers become producers).

PARTNERS

  • Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach
  • Leibniz Gemeinschaft
  • Klaus Tschira Stiftung
  • Heidelberg Laureate Forum
  • UNESCO, EU, African Institutes of Mathematical Sciences, (…)

KEY LEARNINGS

  • You have to give away full control on your content, in order to get back more than you ever thought or dreamed of.
  • Be really open, friendly and be fast in communication.
  • People want to create and add ideas (not just attend, watch, or see) and people like to be challenged.
