What This Organisation Can Offer

The SciCommSci Club aims to serve as a platform for raising awareness about SciCommSci and contributing to training, mentoring and capacity-building initiatives for developing evidence-based science engagement practices, especially those tailored to contexts and challenges in the Global South.

In the long term, we are committed to building a deeper understanding of the research-practice continuum with science engagement, deliberating on the challenges & contexts of doing science engagement in the Global South, and building a community of science engagement professionals engaged in mutual dialogue, networking & mentoring relationships.

What This Organisation Is Looking for

The Club regularly organises featured SciCommSci talks on topics such as science communication research, science pedagogy, science policy, science art, and public engagement. We also periodically conduct featured mentorship sessions called ‘SciComm Unplugged’ that aims to provide personalised feedback and mentorship to upcoming science communication practitioners.

Additionally, we have also been involved in developing SciComm infrastructure and opportunities in India by actively engaging with policymakers and SciComm professionals, creating a database of science communication practitioners and researchers in the country, and developing a national SciComm policy for India.
