Description

Native Scientist was founded by two researchers in 2013 with the goal of connecting scientists and children across Europe to reduce inequalities, promote quality education and celebrate diversity. Today, Native Scientist counts on a network of over 3,000 scientists and their educational programmes have established over 20,000 connections between scientists and children, particularly underserved children. Its Native Schools program helps connect children and scientists with a common heritage language. The aim of the project is to broaden the horizons of children, promote scientific literacy and higher education, and foster language development.

What This Organisation Can Offer

We organize unique and dynamic science workshops, either in-person or online, across 9 countries and 12 languages. The key features of the workshops are:

  • Speed-Dating Format – children are divided in groups and interact with several scientists in a single workshop.
  • Science Tapas – children “taste” different fields of science in one workshop and all fields of science are welcome.
  • Integrated Learning – Children talk about science in their heritage language during the workshop.

What This Organisation Is Looking for

We are always looking for scientists that are passionate about their research and want to connect with children over a common language or heritage. They can participate either by volunteering to present their research or by being a coordinator of these workshops in their country.
