Barbadians have a history of plant usage for health stretching back to the period 1600s to 1800s. Our population is mainly of African descent and rural communities still hold dear to the knowledge base. This is being hampered, however, due to loss of biodiversity and traditional knowledge. Our project has as its mandate knowledge sharing to effect a positive response and commitment to championing heritage preservation in the long run and plant conservation in the immediate.
