Joachim Schultze is director of systems medicine at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) and coordinator of the German NGS centers. He went to medical school in Tübingen and spent 10 years at Harvard before returning to Germany with a Sofia Kovalevskaya Award. Schultze works at the interface between medicine, genomics and computational sciences, and was the first to apply memory-driven computing and swarm learning to medical research.
