The nominating institute Technische Universität Braunschweig on the project:

Vaccines cannot cure COVID-19. We need an additional medication to cure the infected, and protect the risk populations that are expected to respond to vaccination with success rates far below 100%. This can be achieved by using human antibodies, exactly the substances our body generates for protection. Dübel’s breakthrough generates natural monoclonal human antibodies that completely block COVID-19.

Stefan Dübel is a German biologist. Since October 2002, he has been a full professor at the Technical University of Braunschweig and head of the biotechnology department at the Institute of Biochemistry, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics. His work is centred around protein engineering, phage display and recombinant antibodies.
