Matej Hejda

I am an experimental physicist, working at the intersection between photonics and computer science. Originally from Czech Republic and currently pursuing a PhD in Scotland, I deeply enjoy working on cutting-edge technology and state-of-the-art multidisciplinary research, ideally with potential for transfer into solutions with a real-world impact. Currently, I am a member of Dr Antonio Hurtado's research group at University of Strathclyde, and my focus is on investigation and practical exploitation of ultrafast neuron-like dynamics in photonic and optoelectronic devices, with applications in optically-powered, brain-inspired computing.
