Birte Ruhardt

Birte Ruhardt is the Head of the Executive Board’s Office at the Gerda Henkel Foundation, a global private foundation, that primarily provides financial support for the historical humanities as well as for the preservation of cultural heritage, specifically in regions experiencing crisis. She participated in developing the conception of various funding priorities and manages the temporary funding initiative for threatened and refugee researchers from Ukraine, Russia and Belarus. Birte Ruhardt holds a binational doctorate in Classical Archaeology from the University of Cologne and the University of Rome La Sapienza and is a certified foundation manager.
