Michelle Mukonyora

Michelle Mukonyora is a Zimbabwean PhD (Medicine) candidate at the University of Cape Town. Her background is in biotechnology and computational biology, and she is currently specializing in Trichology. Michelle is passionate about using cutting-edge technology to solve healthcare problems in low-resource communities. Her goal is to develop affordable and non-invasive tools to manage gestational diabetes. Michelle recently competed in the Fuel Africa Entreprenuership Bootcamp sponsored by AstraZeneca and she is currently a participant in the BuildUp Science Accelerator for African scientist entrepreneurs. Michelle believes in the power of science communication to empower upcoming African scientists. She runs a life science blog, has presented at the Pint of Science Festival, and takes part in science outreach programmes.
