Monika Janíková

Monika Janíková obtained her Master’s degree in Virology in 2018 at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia. She started her PhD studies in 2020 at the Institute of Molecular Biomedicine, Faculty of Medicine, Comenius University in Bratislava. Her dissertation thesis is focused on extracellular DNA and its importance in the pathogenesis of sepsis and septic complications. At the Institute of Molecular Biomedicine, she introduced the LAMP method for diagnosing SARS-CoV-2 from saliva. Her research interests are extracellular DNA, neutrophil extracellular traps, sepsis, hematology, and pathogenesis of human viruses.
