Aditi Chandra

Aditi Chandra has a master's degree in Nuclear Science and Engineering from MIT, USA and a master's degree in Management from London Business School. She was a summer researcher at CERN, the European Laboratory for Particle Physics where she worked on the ALICE detector of the Large Hadron Collider. She also interned at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, where she was part of the Seismic Safety and Security team. After completing her education, Aditi worked for several years in the engineering industry in India at Kay Bouvet Engineering Ltd. She led the design and manufacturing of critical equipment for nuclear power plants and for the Indian Space Programme. In 2018, Aditi founded Nisaba Education, a social enterprise on a mission to inspire the next generation of scientists in India. At Nisaba, she is leading the development of innovative methods for making science more accessible to children across India. Some of the initiatives include the Nisaba App which gives children free access to hundreds of interactive science adventures and games on various topics. She is also leading the activities of the Nisaba Science Club, where children learn fascinating science topics ranging from dark matter to evolution from top international scientists through live online workshops. Aditi is passionate about nurturing the natural curiosity and imagination in young children, and giving them the tools and opportunities to become lifelong learners. In her free time, Aditi enjoys dancing Argentine Tango, practising yoga, and birdwatching.
