Fernanda is a Brazilian biologist with a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology. Since 2011, Fernanda has been an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, where she has been actively involved in teaching and research. Fernanda is also the founder and coordinator of the Parent in Science Movement, a pioneering initiative aimed at supporting students and researchers who are balancing motherhood and academia. Her unyielding passion for social justice inspired her to create this grassroots initiative that has effectively started breaking the cycle of exclusion and limited opportunities for women in academia and academic careers. 

Fernanda Staniscuaski was a Falling Walls Winner in the Science & Innovation Management category in 2023.
