Zuankai Wang

Professor Zuankai Wang is currently Associate Vice President (Research & Innovation) and Chair Professor at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He received PhD in the mechanical engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2008. His research interests lie in designing and manufacturing nature-inspired surfaces for water-energy-environment nexus. He is a founding member of Hong Kong Young Academy of Sciences, Fellow of International Society of Bionic Engineering (ISBE), and Research Grants Council Senior Research Fellow. He is an awardee of Croucher Senior Research Fellowship (2023), Green Tech Award (2021), Xplorer Prize (2020), 35th World Cultural Council Special Recognition Award (2018), Outstanding Youth Award conferred by ISBE (2016).

Zuankai Wang is a 2023 Falling Walls Winner in the Engineering & Technology category.
