Dr Yang Chai received his PhD degree in Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He conducted his Postdoctoral studies at Stanford University and University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He joined the Hong Kong Polytechnic University as an Assistant Professor in 2012. Currently, he is a full Professor in Department of Applied Physics, the Associate Dean of the Faculty of Science, a member of The Hong Kong Young Academy of Sciences, an IEEE Distinguished Lecturer, and the Chair of IEEE Nanotechnology Committee.
